Hot off the printing press, our January/February issue (#12) can now be found in the city’s top hotels and at all good newsagents!

Fashion fever will be gripping Berlin this January with events such as the Fashion Week at Brandenburg Gate, the Bread&Butter fair in Tempelhof, and the Premium in Kreuzberg taking place. Not to be outdone, February also has its fair share of glamour in the form of the 62nd Berlinale, one of the most prestigious film festivals around. We are happy to announce our edition No. 11 which is just being delivered to our partner hotels and Berlin newsstands.

The november/december edition is all about getting the most out of what the city has to offer in automn and winter. In this issue, read up on the restaurant recommendations from Marco Mueller, Berlin’s Master Chef of the Year 2011. Even the names of the establishments sound enticing – Bird, Bandol sur Mer, Bieberbau. Where art thou?

Dear reader,

After a washout of a summer, Berlin still hasn’t given up hope of getting some friendlier weather in the coming weeks. So many events are more fun with a spot of sunshine. Like the Berlin Festival, for example, which hosts live music at the former Tempelhof Airport. Or the Berlin Marathon and the Istaf athletics festival. Even Pope Benedict XVI. will be hoping for a couple of rays for when he holds mass on the 22nd of September at the Olympic Stadium. The 70,000 faithful expected to turn up to watch probably even more so.

But even if it does carry on raining, life can still be good here in Berlin. [READ MORE]

nach einem völlig verregneten Sommer hoffen die Berliner in diesen Wochen noch auf ein paar freundliche Tage. Es kommen auch noch viele Veranstaltungen, die bei Sonnenschein mehr Spaß machen als bei Regen. Zum Beispiel das Berlin Festival mit Livemusik auf dem ehemaligen Flughafen Tempelhof. Oder der Berlin Marathon und das Leichtathletiktreffen Istaf. Auch Papst Benedikt XVI., der am 22. September im Olympiastadion eine Messe hält, dürfte sich über ein paar Sonnenstrahlen freuen. Die 70.000 dort erwarteten Gläubigen erst recht.

Aber auch wenn es weiterregnet, lässt es sich in Berlin gut leben. [MEHR LESEN]

Summertime edition

Dear reader,

international visitors will flocking to Berlin for the Fashion Week in July. They’ll be here for the fashion shows, cool bars and  great selection of restaurants. They may even have time to fit in a spot of some shopping or an exhibition. Generally, they stay in hotels. Some visitors decide to stay for longer, however. And some Berliners now found that annoying. They say the permanent visitors are responsible for rising beer prices and, anyway, “You just don’t meet any Berliners in Mitte anymore!” [READ MORE]

mit der Fashion Week im Juli kommen wieder jede Menge internationale Besucher in die Stadt. Sie gehen zu den Modemessen, in Bars und Restaurants, wenn noch Zeit ist vielleicht noch einkaufen oder in eine Ausstellung, und sie übernachten im Hotel. Manche Besucher bleiben gleich für länger. Einige Berliner finden das mittlerweile lästig. Die vielen Besucher seien für steigende Bierpreise verantwortlich und üb, erhaupt, „in Mitte trifft man keinen einzigen Berliner mehr!“ [MEHR LESEN]
