A Family Affair

A family tradition: just like his father Igor and his grandfather David, Valery Oistrakh has devoted his life to the violin. And like his relatives, he has achieved global success and fame. His career has seen him play with the Moscow Philharmonic, the Leipzig Gewandhaus Orchestra and the London Symphony Orchestra, and now the Professor at the Brussels Conservatoire is performing at the Berlin Concert House with the women’s orchestra Puellarum Pragensis from Prague. Under the title ‘Der Winter’ they’re performing pieces by Dvorak, Bach and Vivaldi.  We’re giving away two pairs of free tickets for the concert on the 7th of December at 15.30. Just send us an email or comment below for this chance of a night at the opera.

We are on holiday in Berlin from Cape Town for a week and I can think of nothing better to surprise my classical music loving husband Joachim with than a ticket to Der Winter to hear Valery Oistrach play some of his favourite pieces. In his words “three generations of Oistrach. That’s quite remarkable!”
